Aria d’Irlanda

Paura… oggi per tre volte ha nevicato e subito dopo, tutte e tre le volte, sole e caldo allucinante. Dove sono andate le stagioni??

St. Patrick’s Day! Questa era la festa di turno quest’ultimo weekend… Non che sia Irlandese, ok, ma sono stato in Irlanda. Gran bel paese, anche se ci sono stato per poco ho visto l’atmosfera che si respira, le abitudini delle persone, la cucina, le tradizioni, l’omnipresente verde della natura…

Anche se qua a Londra di verde ne abbiamo poco, io e Alle (un mio amico di San Prospero) abbiamo vissuto un pò di quell’aria, abbiamo drinkato qualche Guinness, testato qualche piatto della cucina tipica… Domenica a Trafalgar Square per tutto il pomeriggio hanno suonato gruppi irlandesi, facendo canzoni tipiche. Bella atmosfera!

Ok, sembro ubriaco. In effetti, ero parecchio brillo.. Il cappello m’è stato regalato, come pure la (le) Guinness che mi hanno offerto. Ero con loro quattro più altri tre amici inglesi, a guardare la partita di Rugby Wales-England, in compagnia di un pò di hooligans…

La dolce vita

LADOLCEVITA

Ah, quando le cose sono gratis sono ancora meglio…sono riuscito ad avere tramite la ditta per cui lavoro un paio di free tickets per la dolce vita.
La dolce vita è un festival dedicato all’Italia, qua, in uno dei più belli quartieri di Londra, Kensington.
L’esposizione era varia. Automobili, vino, alimentare, moda…

M’è pianto il cuore quando ho visto la nuova Alfa Spider, devo dire che anche se adesso ho una A4 (beh, in realtà adesso adesso ho solo le mie gambe per muovermi), l’Alfa è sempre l’Alfa…

Come dimenticare i prodotti delle nostre terre… Olio d’oliva, formaggi (quanti…), il vino rosso!!!
La cosa divertente è che in mezzo all’esibizione c’era un enorme stand dove facevano “lezioni di cucina”. Ma la cosa ancora più divertente è che insegnavano come fare il COSMOPOLITAN!!!! Chi è quell’italiano che a casa sua, nella sua cucina si fa il cosmopolitan?? Ma dai, butta su un pò di pasta alla carbonara…

Tra le tante cose che devo fare a lavoro (ci credereste che ho dovuto prenotare 65 biglietti per un musical per un gruppo di studenti spagnoli??), oltre a fare commissioni, rispondere al telefono, etc… devo anche scrivere delle recensioni su dei musei! (ovviamente in inglese) Enjoy!

One curiosity about indian sculptures is about the position of the hands. You may have heard of Mudra. Mudra is a name that indicate particular position of hands, and the Radiant Buddha has the right hand with the whole palm facing forward to the person in front of him. This means that the person should have no fear. The Radiant Buddha is one of the main attraction of the quite big area dedicated to Asian cultures, from Japan to India.

The museum is an enormous building just in front of the first exit of the subway which comes from the South Kensington station. You can’t miss it. At the first glance instead of alternated yellow and grey bricks like Natural History Museum you see red and grey alternated.

Very fascinating… As the room dedicated to the famous Italian painter Raphael. It contains seven “cartoons”, very big pictures, that represents various episodes from the Holy Bible. The most famous is about the miraculous draught of fishes, when Jesus told Peter to make another draught because this one would be lucky, on the contrary of all the other attempts in that day. When Peter saw the boat full of fishes he converted and started to follow Jesus as the first apostle. From him all popes and the foundation of the church follows.

In the cast courts room there are several copies of famous monuments, the plaster cast of the original David of Michelangelo, very imposing, a copy of the Traian columns of Rome, also sculptures from Bernini, masterpieces of Donatello, and so on…

Definitely, this museum isn’t as famous as well-known museums like British Museum, National Gallery… but anyway it deserves more recognition.

It confirms that South Kensington is a very good area if you are interested in art and museums.

The museum is free as many others in this zone.

Uè ragaz, odio i topi, questo è certo… e in casa mia ce ne sono troppi! è possibile che gli inglesi siano gente così sporca? Mah… sono arrivato veramente al limite.

A parte gli scherzi, i miss you guys! Tutti quanti, Aikido, Piazzetta, Quinta Dimensione, quelli “della chiesa”, San Prospero, ROLO, i miei genitori, Galera, Università, quelli del corso su Linux… ma Londra mi piace ogni giorno sempre di più. La mia vita per adesso è qua.

2° Mese…

2 mesi a Londra… Tanto è successo, tanto da raccontare…

Innanzitutto lo scorso weekend sono venuti su 3 miei amici, Dani, Ferro e Pesce!
Mercoledì 28 Febbraio sono andato a prendere Dani alla stazione a Victoria. Fire e Fish sono arrivati Venerdi.
3 Persone che escono insieme nella stessa compagnia, e sono arrivati qua con 3 (si… Tre) voli diversi. Tutto ciò mi ricorda quanto gli italiani, o meglio, i miei compaesani, sono organizzati nel fare le cose 🙂
E’ stato molto divertente quando ho visto la nuova carta d’identità di Ferro, emessa dal comune di Ferno (Milano), lo stesso giorno…

A parte questo, 3-4 giorni intensi perché loro dovevano vedere più cose possibili, per cui continuamente di corsa, un monumento, una piazza dopo l’altra. Venerdì sera siamo andati tutti quanti a mangiare a casa di un mio amico. Qua a Londra il Meltin-Pot è assicurato! Eravamo 2 Francesi, 4 Tedeschi, noi 4 Italiani più un altro mio amico Italiano…

La stessa sera Daniel e Chris sono tornati in Germania definitivamente così siamo stati lì con loro fino a Tardi.

Sabato pomeriggio ho fatto un giro a Portobello Market, a Notting Hill. Litigato un pò con Isabel per cazzate… ma la cosa più divertente di sabato è stata la sera.

MINISTRY OF SOUND

So f**king beautiful… Locale famosissimo per la musica elettronica. Dj del calibro di FatBoy Slim e Prodigy. Il video di “hey boy hey girl” dei Chemical è stato girato all’interno del Ministry of Sound…

Tra l’altro si trova vicino a casa mia…tra Elephant and Castle e Borough. APPENA mi arrivano le foto dagli altri aggiorno questa entry!

Altre cose… La domenica prima sono venuti su anche altri amici da Rolo e dintorni. Siamo stati al mercatino di Camden Town Io, la Sara, Gelo e un suo amico. Anche se definirlo mercatino è un pò riduttivo, meglio definirlo bolgia infernale di persone, di bancarelle e di negozi che vendono dalle cose normali alle cose più impensabili.

Tra le altre cose ho trovato un negozio di Giocoleria… my brand new hobby… Ho provato a jugglare con le balls da allenamento, da 1kg ciascuna… pazzesco!

La settimana scorsa ho avuto su per 3 giorni anche i miei, e per 3 sere ho testato un pò di ristoranti… Sono stato a Sheppard’s Market, un quartiere vicino a Green Park, famoso per i ristoranti tipici, un sacco di stradine, vicoli angusti. Particolare.
E… altro locale in cui sono stato: Pascha.
Sono abbastanza famosi perché se ho capito bene è un gruppo di locali, ci sono in UK, in Germania, and so on…
